  • Elementary PACE Information

PACE is a gifted enrichment program for students who have demonstrated the need for advanced instruction.  At the elementary level, PACE is a weekly pull out program in which students are removed from the general education classroom to work under the guidance of a gifted specialist. The time spent in the PACE program varies according to the grade level of the student.

Referred students in K-5 are assessed in the first semester to determine January placement.  District-wide CogAT tests administered to first, third and fifth-grade students are part of the data used to determine the need for gifted services. Kindergarten, second, and fourth grade will be administered the district-approved PACE battery of assessments, including CogAT, upon referral. Students may be assessed for PACE only once each academic year.

Students may be referred for gifted services by teachers, parents, principals, counselors, or by the students themselves.  Students are assessed at their home campus during the school day.
