Howdy! My name is Karen Williams, and I am thrilled to serve Hedgcoxe as the Assistant Principal! I am a product of Plano schools and value the quality education all students receive in this exemplary district.
After graduating from Plano Senior High School, I attended Texas A&M University (Whoop!) and received my teaching degree. I also received my Masters in Education from University of North Texas and recently completed my Principal Certification through Lamar University. I love learning and experiencing new challenges! I began my education career teaching middle school science (6th-8th) at a private school. Following that year, I moved to Plano and taught second and third grades at Rasor and Daffron Elementary. I served in Plano for ten years, before my family moved to McKinney. For ten years, I worked in McKinney ISD. I taught third and fifth grades and served as the team leader at Valley Creek Elementary. I am excited to continue to serve the Hedgcoxe school community.
When I am not at school, I am at home with my wonderful family. My husband Greg and I have been married 25 years and have two sons. My son, Sean, will be a sophmore at A&M and my son, Ryan, will be a sixth grader this year. I also love being outside walking my dog, Paprika, or exercising.
