Welcome!

I am excited to have served the Memorial community as a school counselor since 2004. My passion is helping students and families and teaching kids about problem solving, goal-setting, and conflict resolution. I have been a school counselor in Plano ISD since 2000, and prior to that I was a classroom teacher and a school counselor in Waco ISD. Before I came to Memorial I was a school counselor at Beverly Elementary in Plano and Bell’s Hill Elementary in Waco. I graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1994 and a Master of Science in Educational Psychology in 1997.

I am looking forward to working with students and families this year!

Vision Statement: The vision of the Memorial School Counseling Department is for all students to be empowered lifelong learners who know their potential and are adaptable, empathic and emotionally healthy citizens.

Mission Statement: Our mission is to provide a comprehensive school counseling program that will equip all students with the skills needed to become global, lifelong learners in a culturally responsive and safe environment with support from school staff, their families, and community leaders.

 

 

  • What Memorial means to me.

    Memorial is my home. Having served here since 2004, I have seen many families come and go and had the opportunity to see a second generation of students! I started at Memorial when my own child entered Kindergarten and now he has graduated, so it has been a lifetime for me! I love seeing former students in the community working and going to school and learning about their lives after Memorial. I am grateful to have had the chance to grow with this community for so many years.
