Title I Teacher/Instructional Specialist
My name is Myra Carter and I am very pleased to welcome your child to Memorial Elementary! My current role is a Title 1 Support Teacher/ Instructional Coach. I was born and reared in Cleveland, Ohio. Go Cavs! I hold a Masters of Arts Degree in Guidance & Counseling from The Atlanta University (currently Clark Atlanta University), in Atlanta, Georgia. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama. Prior to entering the field of education, I served in various leadership and management positions in the field of Human Resources, Criminal Justice, and Mental Health & Substance Abuse Counseling. In 2007, I began my career in the field of education and taught first and second grade with the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District (ISD) prior to joining the Plano ISD family as a third grade teacher. I have three young adult children and a granddaughter. On the weekends, you can find me spending time with my family watching action movies, playing board games, golfing and gardening.
