Hello! My name is Jak Kurdi and this is my second year in Plano ISD. I am originally from Allen, Texas, but I spent six years in Lubbock, Texas learning and teaching at Texas Tech University (Wreck 'Em!), and I consider it my home. While at Texas Tech, I earned both my bachelor's and master's degrees in English, and during my graduate studies I had the honor of spending two years teaching introductory and advanced Rhetoric and Composition to Texas Tech undergraduate students.
I am a published poet with a passion for language, meaningful conversations, and fostering my students' growth with care, a little bit of humor, and curiosity.
When I'm not at school, you could probably find me on a weekend hiking trip with my wife and dogs, enjoying a coffee at a local shop, writing a poem, or playing guitar.
