Ms. Summer Nimmers
Hi there Razorbacks! My name is Summer Nimmers, and I'm so excited about entering my second year of teaching sixth grade English here at Robinson. I moved to Plano just last year from Ruston, a small town in northern Louisiana, where I taught sixth grade for two years at the same school I'd also attended! Throughout college and while working as a teacher, I also coached cheerleading, which I'm pumped about resuming this year at Robinson alongside Ms. Stephenson. Outside of school, I enjoy taking my Goldendoodle, Tito, to the park, watching movies, doing yoga, and cheering on the Chicago Bears with my dad on Sunday's during football season.
I'm currently working toward a master’s degree in English Education, so as a graduate student, I often find myself having to reflect upon and put into practice the study habits and strategies I often suggest to my students! I began this journey as a middle school English teacher because I want to share with students the value and power of reading, writing, and discussion by providing them with a safe space for learning and interacting with not only the teacher, but also their peers.
