Scott Arakawa is the Director of Orchestras at Vines High School and the newly appointed Associate Conductor of the Coppell Community Orchestra. In 2019, he moved to Texas and was the Associate Orchestra Director at Eaton High School in Northwest ISD. He spent the previous 19 years teaching band and orchestra in Orange County, California. Ensembles under his direction have consistently received high ratings at UIL Concert and Sight-reading as well as SCSBOA festivals. Since 2005, Mr. Arakawa has served as the conductor of the Wildwood Music Camp Intermediate Orchestra and was the conductor of the Long Beach City College Orchestra for the 2016-17 season. He has spent 8 years as a youth orchestra conductor and been a clinician and adjudicator throughout Southern California. His wife Kerri is a flute instructor in McKinney ISD and they are the proud parents of 3 children.
