Dr. Eunice Marrero
Dr. Marrero began her career in music education in 1996. She has taught in Puerto Rico. Maryland, Florida and Texas. For eighteen years she was an elementary music teacher and very much enjoyed teaching general music as well as choral music. In 2014, she decided to pursue her passion for choral music education exclusively and accepted a middle school choir director position. Mrs. Marrero concurrently taught future music educators at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. She has been at Vines High School since 2022.
Dr. Marrero has been a presenter and clinician for elementary and middle school music educators in Florida, Texas and California. She has also been a guest clinician for All Region choirs. Dr. Marrero served as a Fine Arts Curriculum Writer and as the Co-Author of a Differentiated Strategies Bank. In addition, she has served her school districts as a Professional Learning Community Leader, Team Leader and Professional Mentor. Dr. Marrero was also a member and chair of the Texas UIL Prescribed Music Literature Committee.
Eunice Marrero holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Music Education from Boston University, a Master of Arts degree in Music Education from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. In addition, she holds a National Board Certification in Early and Middle Childhood, Music. Mrs. Marrero also holds a Level 1 Kodaly and Level 1 Kodaly Choral Track trainings. In 2004, she was selected campus Teacher of the Year in Orlando, Florida and, again in 2007, in Austin, Texas.
