Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! My name is San Juanita Castillo. I am excited about beginning my first year as Assistant Principal at Vines High School, and I look forward to working collaboratively with everyone! I know that working together we will have an exceptional school year filled with many accomplishments and success stories.

I have a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies Degree with a Minor in Bilingual/Bicultural Education, and a Master of Education Degree from The University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg, TX. I have been in education for 20+ years. My educational journey began as a first grade bilingual teacher in 2002, and then I became a school counselor in 2006. My experience ranges from working in elementary, middle school, high school, Early College High School, College & Career Readiness, and Special Education. This school year, I am beginning my new journey as Assistant Principal.

My goal is to be a servant leader and to work collaboratively with all stakeholders in pursuit of a common goal, which is student success. I believe that we are all lifelong learners and that together we will continue to learn and grow. I can’t wait to see all the amazing things we will accomplish at Vines High School!
