My name is Elizabeth Quinn (Coach Quinn, Ms. Quinn). This is my third year of teaching English and first year of coaching volleyball/track. This is also my first year with Plano ISD and Vines High School.
I attended one of the top journalism schools in the country – the Missouri School of Journalism – where I majored in magazine editing and minored in women and gender studies. I started my career as a journalist because I love to learn, but it soon became clear after nearly six years of experience in the journalism world that I truly thrived off of educating others about all the different possibilities of the world. A published author and previous editor for newspapers and magazines alike, I look forward to continuously learning and teaching students about how fun and creative English can be while expanding students' minds and challenging them to think outside of the box.
I was a multi-sport athlete competing in cross country and track & field. I was an All-State runner in cross country and track, and I was 6th fastest girl in the state for the 2 mile. In my senior year of high school, I led my cross country and track team as the captain, and as a team, we earned a triple crown (winning cross country, indoor, and outdoor state championships).
At Vines High School, I teach Academic Literacy I and Honors English I, as well as coach Volleyball and track.
