I'm so excited to be in the Vines High School family for my 22nd year in education, and my 5th year in PISD. I've worked in four different states (Texas, Wyoming, Missouri. and Louisiana) and taught high school English, middle school Language Arts/Reading, elementary grades 2,3, and 5, and special education at all grade levels. Prior to moving to Plano, I was a high school special education coordinator for 7 years. This will be my second year as Special Education Department Head at Vines High School.
I earned my bachelor's degree from University of Louisiana Monroe, in Monroe, La., and a master's degree in Special Education from Drury University in Springfield, Mo. I completed my post baccalaureate teacher education at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La. I also attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La. I was reared on the family farm in the small village of Oak Ridge, La., which is near Monroe, in North Louisiana.
