Vines Family, ATTEN-TION!

I’m excited to introduce myself as the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) Army Instructor (AI) at Vines and Clark High Schools. After 20 years of service in the US Army, I’m now in my second year teaching at Plano ISD. I look forward to collaborating with students, staff, and parents to inspire young people to become outstanding citizens.

Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, I navigated through the Dallas ISD system and was a JROTC student myself for four years. It’s a fulfilling journey for me to return to JROTC—first as a student, then as a service member, and now as an instructor. My military career took me across the US and around the globe, including assignments in over six US states, Germany, Republic of Korea, Bulgaria, Romania, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

My primary goal is to help students become better citizens in their classrooms, schools, communities, and our country. If a student leaves my class with even one positive takeaway or a new skill to aid their future, I consider that a success. While I am not focused on recruiting students into the armed services, I am more than happy to support those who are interested. Regardless of their aspirations, I’m committed to equipping all students with the tools they need to thrive beyond high school.
