Hi! My name is Laura Harrington and I this is my 2nd year teaching visual arts at McMillen High School.  However, this is my 9th year teaching visual arts.  I have taught in Dallas ISD as well as a private school in Richardson.  Prior to teaching art, I served for 3 years as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer teaching English and helping with Malaria prevention and other health initiatives.  I grew up in McKinney and have lived in North Texas most of my life.    I have an amazing 6 year old son who begins 1st grade this year.  We have a 3 year old chocolate labrador dog named Fisher who is a rescue.  In my spare time I enjoy creating in my ceramic pottery studio at home, reading, watching movies, working out, knitting,and in the summers.....traveling.  My biggest art passion right now is ceramics.    I truly love teaching and am a passionate lifelong learner, and am so excited to meet my new students this year.
