John Tedford

I am excited and proud to be joining Armstrong Middle School school as your new principal. To serve this outstanding community in this capacity is truly an honor. I look forward to supporting the exemplary qualities that define the Armstrong Tigers.

I began my career in education as a history teacher sixteen years ago in Broward County, Florida. After moving to Texas, I taught at Murphy and Haggard Middle Schools. Before becoming an assistant principal, I worked at the district as an assessment specialist for three years. I have spent the last five years at Clark High School as an assistant principal.

I have a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Florida, a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Florida Atlantic University, and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from UT Arlington. I am currently working on my Doctorate in Educational Administration with a superintendent certificate from Texas A&M Commerce. My wife, AnneMarie, and I have three children who attend Plano ISD schools.

I look forward to meeting you over the coming month as we begin preparation for the new school year. As a leader, I center myself on making decisions that are best for students and being a servant leader. I am grateful for the opportunity to join the Armstrong family and look forward to finding my role in supporting the success of students, staff, and the community.
