Updates from Principal Williams - Feb 27, 2023
I would like to thank everyone for all of the positive thoughts and prayers for my oldest son, Hayden. He is doing amazing and has been back to work for almost 2 months now. He completed all of his therapy (physical, occupational, and speech) 4 to 6 months ahead of schedule. He is still working on some double vision issues, but other than that, he is almost back to being the same young man as before the accident. It has been interesting to see him with a different demeanor, which is very much like his grandfathers that passed away a few years ago. I just found out tonight that he has started driving again with his fiance in the car with him. Again, thank you for all of your support.
Please continue to work with your children and encourage them to finish the 9 weeks and semester strong. We are in the final few weeks of the 3rd 9 weeks and right up against Spring Break. This is the time to stay focused and diligent about completing assignments and submitting them on time as well as studying for exams, writing essays, and preparing for the upcoming STAAR EOC exams. Here are the dates:
April 18th- English 1
April 19th- English 2
April 28th- Biology
May 10th- Algebra 1
For students that were not successful on their first attempt on one of these exams, it is critical that students attend tutorials as well as review the content from the exam and ask their teacher about anything they don’t understand.
Over the next month we will have students taking the TEPAS tests as well and we want to encourage you to have a conversation with your child and stress the importance of these tests. (This series of tests is for students who listed that a second language is spoken at home).

Please take a moment to complete this short form to help promote future ready students by showcasing the various colleges, universities, military branches, trade schools, etc. that you attended. This will help students, staff, and the community know where friends, family, and McMillen staff obtained their education and hopefully encourage students to research the institutions and possibly attend.
