Howdy and Hello! My name is Sam Gonzalez, and I am excited to be teaching 7th ELA at Otto Middle School. This is my first year at Otto Middle School as well as PISD!

I was born in Las Vegas but raised in the vibrant culture of South Texas aka the Valley. After graduating from the University of Texas at Dallas with degrees in Psychology and Child Development, I discovered my passion for working in the middle school classrooms and sought my alt. cert. in both Social Studies and English Language Arts. 

I believe in creating a stimulating and supportive classroom environment where students can thrive and become interested in reading and learning. When I'm not teaching about syntax and poem structure, I enjoy spending quality time with my two cats (Hot Chip and Sims) and corgi (Bacon). British literature, particularly Frankenstein and Dracula, holds a special place in my heart. I also spend my free time enjoying playing video games or engaging in competitive board game matches.
