Hello Bobcat family! I go by Mrs. Carpenter but you will see Gorham-Carpenter in my info on your schedule. 

I am in my 18th year of teaching in Plano ISD.  I am a Plano East graduate ('86), got married and moved to San Diego for 13 years.  We moved back to Plano in 1998.  I went back to college, UTD, and graduated in 2002. My husband, Travis, and I have been married now almost 38 years.  We have 2 sons, Tristan and Clay, and live on the East side of Plano and love it! 

I graduated from UTD in 2002 with a Bachelors of Literary Studies and my teaching certificate.  I started off teaching Science at Bowman Middle School, helped open Otto teaching Science, then moved to Texas History and World Cultures, and now I am back to Science. I am one of the Cheer sponsors here at Otto and am also the CARE coordinator.  

I love to read, garden- sunflowers and tomatoes are my favorite garden plants and I love hanging out with my friends and family.  I love animals: we have dogs, cats, a bird, and many fish tanks. I love to be outside hiking or playing location games like Munzee, Geocaching and Wallabee.

My purpose in teaching is to do my best each day to give your student relevant knowledge, the courage to try new things, the curiosity to seek new answers and the ability to be the best they can be.
