Degrees and Certifications:
M.Ed., Southern Methodist University B.S. Kinesiology, Applied Exercise Physiology, Texas A&M University
I am a native Texan, originally from southwest Houston. I have lived in Dallas with my husband Mike and sons Logan and Evan since 2007.
I earned a B.S. Kinesiology with a specialization in Applied Exercise Physiology from Texas A&M University and was a health educator and strategic leader in the health and wellness industry for 14 years.
I earned my M.Ed. from Southern Methodist University with a focus in elementary education and literacy assessment and instruction. This is my second year at Barksdale, and I am very excited to work with my students during such an unprecedented time in their lives.
I believe all children can grow and succeed within a safe, nurturing, structured classroom environment. We like to have fun, laugh, and help one another as we focus on doing our best.
When I’m not in the classroom, I like to cook, run, swim, play and travel (to the beach!) with my family, photograph beautiful sunsets, play piano, and read fictional novel series.
