I am grateful to be a part of such a wonderful school!  It is a joy to come every single day to work with our students and staff.

I am one of the Physical Education Teachers here at Barksdale.  This is my 12th year working for Plano ISD...but... my first year at Barksdale!  Thus far, I have 33 years of experience.

I have also taught in Austin at Hyde Park School, Waco ISD at Lake Waco Elementary, Arlington ISD at Ditto Elementary, and San Antonio for the North East ISD at Thousand Oaks Elementary.

My degree is a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with a specialization in Physical Education.

When I am not teaching, I love being with my family.  I have been married to my husband, Stephen Carrell, for 41 years.  He is the Pastor of Worship and Music at Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas.  I am the mother of three women and two sons-in-laws.  Sarah is my oldest daughter....  She is married to Jay Netherton; he works for Vizient, Inc. as the Senior Director of Executive Communications.  Becca, my middle daughter, is the Key Account Manager for Order My Gear and is married to Ryan Wilkerson.  He is the Recruiting Coordinator for Order My Gear.   Rachel, my youngest daughter, works for Texas Baptist as the Ministry Assistant for the Center of Ministerial Health/Counseling.

One of my most joyful titles is "Mimi" for my grandson "Cal" Calvin Netherton...Cooper, and granddaughter Chloe Wilkerson!!! I love being a grandmother! 

Reading is my favorite free-time activity, as well as gardening...and …doing things like preparing large events for ministry at church.  These events include floral work and design as well.

I love being home with my family most of all!
