Hello! My name is Jacqueline Horton and I am SO excited to start my seventeenth year at Barksdale! This is my twentieth teaching. In addition to Barksdale, I have also taught in Oklahoma and overseas (Scotland). I love the Barksdale community, staff, and most of all fourth grade!

I grew up in Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma State University for my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. I earned my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Reading from the University of North Texas. 

Outside of the classroom most of my time is spent with my very active family. My husband, Mike, and I have been married for nineteen years. We have two children who all attend Barksdale and a fabulous golden retriever named Shirley. In my down time, I enjoy reading (with coffee of course), exercising, and going to concerts. 

I’m looking forward to another grade year!
