I am so thrilled to serve as your assistant principal at Barksdale Elementary this upcoming school year.
Born in California and raised in Texas, I am a proud Plano East Graduate.
I started my journey in education at Texas Woman’s University where I obtained my bachelor's degree in Education. I then received my masters in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Texas in Arlington and my Educational Leadership Certification through Texas A&M Commerce.
My career in education began as a math teacher at Otto Middle School in 2010. During my time at Otto, I also served as Math Department Chair, Title I Math Support, Mathematics Curriculum Writer. I was blessed with the opportunity to move to Frankford Middle School in 2019 as their Academic Specialist, where I was the Section 504 Coordinator and Dyslexia therapist.
My family includes my three amazing children (Kaylie, Aidan, and Samantha), my husband (Michael), and our labradoodle (Harvey). Together, we enjoy hiking, cooking, crafts, photography, and playing games.
I am a firm believer that all students can learn and that we are here to support them in their learning to bring them to their fullest potential.
