Mr. Monteverde-Torres

My name is Elliot Monteverde-Torres and I am proud to be a Plano ISD educator and Assistant Principal (AP) at Renner MS. This is my 18th year in education. I joined the district in 2016. Prior to my appointment as AP in 2022, I worked at McMillen HS where I served as the LOTE department chair for 4 years. I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, a law degree from Rutgers School of Law in Newark, NJ, a master's degree in educational administration from UT Austin, and 44 credits toward a doctorate in higher education from UNT in Denton. My career change to teaching was motivated by my commitment to making a positive impact and difference in the lives of children, as well as my love of learning. When comparing the public interest fields of law and education, one major similarity is that professionals in both fields have a genuine desire to give back. I have a true passion for helping children progress in all areas of their development and for fostering a community of learners. My spouse is also a teacher and we have two children. My daughter, a PWSHS graduate, is a first-year student at Loyola University-Chicago and my son is a 10th grader at Jasper HS. I look forward to another successful year and working with the community of faculty, staff, students, and parents at Renner MS.
