Mr. Monteverde-Torres

My name is Elliot Monteverde-Torres and I am proud to be a Plano ISD educator and an Assistant Principal (AP) at Frankford MS. This is my 16th year in the field of education. I joined the district in 2016. I started my career in education as a Community Liaison in a secondary school, later as a bilingual teacher in elementary school, and in 2013 as a Spanish teacher in high school. Prior to my appointment as an AP last year, I worked at McMillen HS where I served as chair of the LOTE department starting in 2018. I have a bachelor's from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, a law degree from Rutgers School of Law in Newark, NJ, and a master's in educational administration from UT Austin. My career changed to teaching was motivated by my commitment to making a positive impact and a difference in the life of children as well as my love for learning. When comparing the field of public interest law and education, one huge similarity is that professionals in both fields have a genuine desire to give back. I have a true passion for helping children progress in all areas of development and nurturing a community of learners. My spouse is also a teacher, and we have two children. My daughter graduated from PWSHS this year and my son is a proud PISD 9th grader. I relocated to Texas with my family from Puerto Rico in 2007. I enjoy my family and spending time with them. I look forward to another successful year and a fruitful collaboration with the community of teachers, staff, students and parents at Frankford MS.
