I have been a teacher in Plano ISD since 2007. I have taught 2 years of 6th grade and found my place in 8th grade. I have been the Independent Research Sponsor (Science Fair Coordinator) for 14 years and I love seeing my students feel success through scientific discovery. I started teaching right out of college at Wilson Middle School in Plano and, in 2018, found a new home at Renner Middle School, where I was named Teacher of the year for the 2019-2020 school year. During the 2022-2023 school year, I was named as the Texas Instruments Foundation Innovations in STEM Teaching Award. During my time at Renner, I've served as the PALS teacher, the 8th grade team lead, as well as the Science Department Head.

During the summer, I taught 4th grade science through the SIGS program with PlanoISD from 2010-2019 and loved getting the opportunity to do something so different, but very much the same as what I do during the school year. I have written curriculum for PISD science for 12 years and I love collaborating with teachers across the district to help build the curriculum for our teachers and students. I was named as a Master Teacher by UT Southwestern to lead a STARS summer science camp from 2020-2023. Through this camp, I was able to provide a fun week for students while helping grow teachers across the DFW metroplex.

When I'm not working, I love watching sports of all kinds, reading a good thriller/suspense novel, watching The Office, going to a movie, or enjoying live music. I love being an Aunt to the most adorable niece and nephew and visit them in my hometown of Tyler, Texas whenever I get a chance. I have 2 mini golden doodles that are full of energy and the best cuddles. I named one of them Gryffin, to honor my Harry Potter fandom, and the other is named Champ as they were both born during the 2023 post season, where the Texas Rangers eventually won their first World Series!!
