Mr. Asher Feltman
I was born in Dallas, Texas and grew up in Plano. I lived in Arizona for two years and moved back to Plano to be with my family. I studied sports journalism at the University of North Texas and previously worked for the Frisco RoughRiders, Texas Legends, Dallas Mavericks and Texas Rangers. In my senior year of college, I switched careers to education, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made.
My three Principles of teaching are Purpose, Passion, and Pay it forward. My purpose is serving the people and helping the community. My passions are teaching, coaching, and history. I have made my passions my life’s work. By paying kindness and humility forward and passing on what I know, my goal is to make our school and our community a better place.
At Renner Middle school, I teach 8th Grade US History and 8th Grade Honors US History. I coach football, 7th grade basketball, and coach baseball at Plano West Senior High, my alma mater. I have been coaching school and club baseball and basketball for nine years at all levels from elementary to high school.
In my free time, I watch a lot of movies, especially Star Wars (#TeamPrequels), Marvel (#TeamCap) and Batman. I love to watch and play sports like baseball, softball, basketball and football.
