About Me – Mr. Boatfield

Hi there! I'm Joseph Boatfield, and I’m proud to be the Art Teacher at Christie Elementary. I've been teaching elementary art since 2018, but my journey with art education began even earlier through my work with the Dallas Museum of Art and the Fort Worth Fine Arts Preschool.

I’m passionate about inspiring young minds and showing our future leaders that creativity is a vital life skill. Each week, I have the privilege of teaching all K-5 classrooms, and I love guiding students as they explore their artistic potential.

This year, we’ll dive into historical and contemporary art, experiment with a variety of media, and tap into exciting digital tools to create original works of art. I can’t wait to see what our students will accomplish – it’s going to be an amazing year!

The best way to reach me during school hours is by email at:

I look forward to a creative and inspiring year at Christie Elementary!

  • Stay Connected and Get Involved at Christie Elementary!

The best place to find up-to-date information about school clubs, events, and opportunities is the Christie Elementary PTA Facebook Page. Additionally, keep an eye on your student's Google Classroom for announcements about contests, Art Camps, and other exciting creative opportunities happening at Christie Elementary.

After-School Art Camps this year will be organized by grade levels to help reduce group sizes and avoid mixing different grades. This allows for more focused instruction and a better experience for all students. Club spots fill quickly, so I encourage you to become a PTA member and/or follow our school’s Facebook page to stay informed.

I will supervise 3:45 PM pick-up from the Front Office.

    How to Join Art Camps:

    • Grades 2-5: Students sign up through Google Classroom when clubs open. Afterward, permission forms will be distributed to those who signed up.
    • Grades K-1: Families can sign their student up using a Google Form when camps open or reach out directly if their child is interested in participating.

Art Camp is a free and valuable opportunity for students to explore, create, and nurture their curiosity!

In addition, teachers are now sharing their classroom libraries. You can view mine by following this link:

Thank you for supporting the arts and encouraging your student’s creativity!
