Ms. Becky Kozinski
Ms. Kozinski - or Ms. K as you might hear your students refer to her as - has been teaching in Plano ISD for seven years, and she is so excited for her first year at Shepton High School!
Becky Kozinski graduated summa cum laude from Texas Tech University in 2016, earning her Bachelor of Music with Teacher Certification. While attending Texas Tech, Ms. Kozinski was a member of the Texas Tech Women's Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Carolyn Cruse, as well as an apprentice conductor of the University Singers. Her leadership extended beyond the choral ensemble, and onto the football field, where she was a four year member of the Goin' Band from Raiderland, serving as Colorguard Captain in her final two years. Ms. Kozinski was honored to be one of only two female conductors to make it to the semi-final round of the ACDA-Southwest Undergraduate Conducting Competition, and represented Texas Tech at the March 2016 Convention in Kansas City, Missouri.
Since graduating, Ms. K started her career in Killeen ISD and made her way to Plano ISD in the fall of 2017, first as assistant choir director at Wilson/Haggard Middle Schools and most recently as the Associate Choir Director at Renner Middle School. During the summers, Ms. Kozinski is the Assistant Camp Director of the Texas Tech University All-State Choir Camp. When she is not music-making with her students, Ms. K loves hiking in state or national parks, traveling to new places, and playing board games with her friends!
