Hi Shepton! This is my first year teaching and I am so excited to be here! I was born and raised in San Antonio, but I have lived all over Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, and South Korea, and now I'm glad to be back in the Lone Star State and living closer to family.

I graduated cum laude with a bachelor's in mechanical engineering from Texas Tech in 2009, and with a master's in linguistics from CU Boulder in 2021. I taught English in Cheongju, South Korea for 18 months, was instructor of a linguistics course through CU Boulder's continuing education department for three semesters, and was a substitute teacher for 2.5 years before becoming a certified secondary school teacher.

Mathematics is the beautiful study of universal relationships and patterns that serves as a common language for all the sciences. It is my sincere hope to inspire a passion for that beauty in my students and a desire for lifelong learning. In the 2024-25 school year, I will be teaching Honors Geometry and Honors Algebra 1.

When not at school, I can usually be found training in the Korean martial art of Tang Soo Do, reading, listening to music, or hanging out at home with my wonderful wife Holly and our cat Chickpea. I wish I had more time for video games, because I do miss them! But I also love traveling, hiking, learning new things, and eating spicy food.
