Greetings,

I am Sean Hughes, the Exploring Information and Computer Technology as well as Principles of AV Technology and Communications teacher here at Murphy Middle School.

I have been teaching since 1998. I have taught at all levels of K-12. However, I am so excited to move to be back at the middle school level, and feel so honored to be teaching at Murphy Middle School.

A little bit about me: I am married to my wonderful wife Shirley. I have 2 wonderful sons; Dylan (he is in the Air Force) and Joseph (graduated from Sachse HS in 2023), whom I am so proud of. I have a dog, Snuggles, who is my buddy, as well as my wife's dog, Lady.

As stated above, I've been teaching a long time. I have taught here in Texas and in California as well. In fact, it was in California that I began teaching technology to students. I have a Bachelor's of Education from Texas Tech (class of '97), and a Master's of Education in Instructional Technology from San Jose State University. When I moved back to Texas in 2008, I taught at Hudson Middle School and then Bussey Middle School in Garland ISD. For the past 2 years, I have been teaching Computer Science at Plano ISD Academy HS.

I can't wait to start teaching the students at Murphy MS. I know this will be an awesome year.
