Mrs. Thompson
Hello ~ Mav students and parents! I am Mrs. Thompson and have been a Murphy Maverick since 2003. I get the pleasure of teaching the Family and Consumer Sciences (formerly Home Economics) courses titled Skills & Career Readiness and Life & College Readiness. Each course is a semester and beneficial addition to any student's curriculum foundation.
I am a proud Red Raider and received my B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies with a teaching certification in Vocational Home Economics. I pursued my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from UNT in 2009. I am part of the curriculum writing team for Career & Technical Education and am excited to lead students on a motivational pathway towards leading successful professional and personal lives.
I enjoy spending time with my amazing husband and playing with our children, Jayton (10) and Camille (6), who keep me busy! I also enjoy running, going to concerts, and spending time with friends and family OUTDOORS! Although this school year will be extremely different, I am enthusiastic about teaching and building relationships with Murphy Mavericks!
