I am an immigrant. With my dad and three siblings, the family left Vietnam in April 1981 and eventually established new residence in Texas in October 1981. I reunited with my mom and three other siblings in 1995. It was not until November 2011, a day before Thanksgiving, that all of my family members were reunited. My older sister, brother-in-law, and my four nephews were the last in my family to leave Vietnam. Thanksgiving 2011 was when the parents and all the siblings were all together in one room. It was definitely a day to be thankful for all that we had.

I graduated from the University of Texas in Austin. I started out teaching in Austin as a Vietnamese Bilingual teacher. I then taught English as a Second Language (ESL) at Sellers Middle School in Garland and Murphy Middle School and then English Language Arts at Renner Middle School.  

I am super excited to be part of the Murphy family and community. I am looking forward to getting to know the students and helping them learn, have positive experiences, and develop lifetime relationships.
