Science Department

The Plano Independent School District will promote life-long application of scientific concepts, processes, and skills to enable all students to make informed and rational decisions as they participate in a changing society.  At Shepton, students are offered on-level or honors courses in Chemistry, Biology or Engineering Science (PLTW). 

Science or Engineering Fair

Students have the opportunity to compete in the Science and Engineering Fair each year. The top winning projects for each school move onto the district, then national levels if they qualify.  

The Laser Organization

LASER club is committed to promoting research and experimentation in the sciences.  This districtwide organization searches out talented youth, encourages participation in science fairs, symposia and other competitive events,  recognizes their accomplishments, and encourages their continued interest and participation in the sciences and engineering. Membership in LASER is limited.
