Hey y'all! My name is Jordan Mickelson and I teach 8th Grade U.S. History & coach football & basketball. Just a little bit about me, I grew up in a small town in southern California just outside of Los Angeles, and grew up loving the beach and football. I received my bachelor's from Cal State Northridge and my master's from Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington.

After college, I settled down in the North Idaho area, taught sixth grade, coached middle school football, and raised two amazing kiddos! In 2017, after many wonderful years in North Idaho and Eastern Washington, we moved to Plano and have been enjoying our Texas adventure ever since! 

I have been teaching in PISD since 2021 at McCall Elementray which was so wonderful and I am so excited to be apart of this AMAZING Rice Middle School team, go Ravens!!!

I really do enjoy what I do and feel lucky teaching, coaching, and shaping young minds. I think something unique that I bring to the classroom, is a passion for building and investing in the classroom community and culture. I strongly believe that by focusing on creating authentic relationships, incorporating fun, and establishing a community of mutual respect. I want my students to be able to come into a space where they feel valued, safe, and are constantly being challenged with new opportunities!
