Mr. Chris Glasscock
This is my 24th year in education, my 14th year at Rice and my 9th year as the principal. I am proud to be the principal of the middle school with the best community, staff, and students around! Rice Middle School is truly an awesome place to be each day and I am honored to be a part of the successes we continue to achieve year in and year out.
I have lived in Plano, TX since 1991 when I moved here from Ft. Collins, CO. I attended Collin County Community College for two years and then attended the University of North Texas where I graduated in May of 1996. During the last semester at UNT, I student taught in 2nd and 5th grade at Brinker Elementary and was hired to teach 4th grade the following school year. I started teaching at Brinker during the fall of 1996 and met my future wife, Kristin, who was also a 1st year teacher at Brinker. We were married in September, 1997.
After teaching two years in 4th grade at Brinker, I decided that I wanted to teach students who were a bit older. I was hired as a 6th grade math teacher at Frankford Middle School when it opened and taught in that position for 3 years. During this time, I was also taking graduate classes at UNT where I graduated with my Master of Education in December, 2000. I was fortunate to be hired as the Administrative Intern at Frankford and held that postion for 2 years prior to moving to the Assistant Principal role. I was the Assistant Principal for three years at which time I was transferred to Rice and held the same position for 5 years before becoming principal. I have enjoyed being a part of Rice Middle School and the many great things we accomplish daily. Rice truly is an amazing school!
My wife, Kristin, is an assistant principal at Mitchell Elementary School in Plano ISD and we have two fabulous children; Grace (19) and Caden (16). While they didn't attend Rice Middle School (not sure if it was their choice or mine!), they still have had the experience of a great public education while attending other Plano ISD schools. We have two dogs, Remy and Duke, and enjoy traveling as a family and spending time with our family and friends.
