I am originally from Clearwater, FL, but spent 16 years living in Stuttgart, Germany.  I have been in Plano for over 20 years and appreciate the diverse culture and community our city offers.  I have two daughters who are in the nurse residency program at Children's Health, both of whom went through Plano West cluster schools.  Not only am I a Rice teacher, but I'm also a member of the Rice community.

This year I am teaching 7th grade PACE and AVID.  I am also the AVID Coordinator and PACE/GT Specialist at Rice.

I'm excited to welcome students back into the classroom for the 2024-2025 school year and look forward to learning and growing throughout this school year!  I encourage a strong classroom community and a positive environment so we are able to work together and support one another as we develop skills that help us become organized learners and well-rounded citizens. 

One of my goals this year is to encourage my students to reflect on their learning experience and recognize some of their own academic needs.  Working together with students, I hope to address their struggles, offer strategies to help them become better learners, and celebrate their accomplishments.
