    We hope this information helps to clarify our attendance procedures and expectations. As a reminder, Shepton High School is a closed campus. 

    ***All students MUST be signed out by a parent or emergency contact from parent portal*** Below are some helpful tips for attendance and making it a great year: 

    • If your student needs to leave early, please send a note with your student in the morning with your signature. This will help us know when to call the student down to be ready when you arrive. It must include: 

      • Date and Time of Departure 

      • Student name Reason Parent Signature 

     

    • Parent / Doctor / Court / Misc. notes must be received within 3 days upon return from an absence with the current date, student name, date of absence, reason of absence, and a signature. If a note is not received, the absence will be unexcused. Doctor notes are always good to have. You may refer to PISD Policy for excused and unexcused absences. 

    • If you plan to have an older sibling, grandparent, or an emergency person pick up your student throughout the year, please add them to the Parent portal for PISD. 

             https://parentviewer.pisd.edu/. A note will not be needed if they are on the emergency pickup list. 

    • Students will be marked tardy during the first 10 minutes per period. If a student is 11 minutes late to a class period, it will be counted as an absence (excused or unexcused TBD). 

    • If you forget to send a note, you may send one via fax @ 469-752-7601 or email an attached note with your signature to SheptonAttendance@pisd.edu. A phone call or just an email will not work.
