    Skyward Family Access Update

    Registration Reminder for All Parents and Families

    Plano ISD has transitioned to Skyward Family Access for the new school year. If you haven't already registered your students, it is important to do this before the beginning of the school year. This registration process must be completed in order to access student information including schedules, grades, lunch accounts and fees. 

    Steps to Register:

    1. Review Support Resources: Before starting the registration process, review the Family Access support resources, how-tos and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) available at www.pisd.edu/FamilyAccessHelp to avoid common registration errors.
    2. Access the Registration Portal: Once you are familiar with the process, you can access the registration portal at portal.pisd.edu.

    Steps to Avoid Common Registration Errors:

    • Enter the parent's legal first name and legal last name.
    • Returning students enter the parent’s email address listed on the student’s Emergency Card (any needed email updates can be made after your account is created).
    • Double check all information for accuracy.
    • Account registration is a two-step process. You must first submit the registration form then claim your account.
    • Account claim codes will be emailed to you after you submit the registration form (be sure to check your junk/spam folder).

    • Online Resources: FAQs and additional support resources are available online to assist you.
    • Email Support: If you encounter difficulties after reviewing the support resources, please email us at familyaccess@pisd.edu. Be sure to include your student’s name, student ID and campus name in your email for quicker assistance.

    Technical Support Response Times:

    We are currently experiencing a high volume of support calls as families register for the new school year. While we aim to respond within 48 hours, response times may be longer due to the increased volume.

    Already Submitted a Help Desk Request?

    If you have already submitted an issue to the Help Desk or through Let’s Talk, please rest assured that our engineers are working diligently to resolve your issues. Your inquiries will be answered as soon as possible.

    Class Schedule Release:

    Class schedules will be released on Monday, August 5. For families still experiencing registration issues at that time, printed schedules will be available at your child’s open house, meet-the-teacher event or schedule walkthrough. 

    We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we make this transition to better serve our students and families.

  • What Is Family Access?

    The Family Access portal will allow parents/guardians to monitor and participate in your child’s education, including the ability to:

    • Review grades
    • Check schedules  
    • View upcoming assignments 
    • Keep track of attendance
    • Manage fees and payments
    • Access other important information

    Students will also have accounts, where they will check grades, complete online assignments and more.
