Plano ISD Weather Closure Extended to Include Friday, January 10

Due to the forecast for continued inclement weather, cold temperatures and the potential for unsafe travel conditions throughout the district, Plano ISD schools and facilities will remain closed through Friday, January 10, 2025. 

With the closure of school, adjustments will be made to athletic competitions, which will be rescheduled as soon as possible. The Athletics Department will communicate the new dates and times for these events. 

Based on current weather forecasts, Plano ISD plans to resume classes on Monday, January 13. School will be in session unless otherwise announced.

Please stay safe and continue monitoring school district communications channels for any updates or new information regarding school operations:

• The Plano ISD website: Weather-related closures and updates will be posted in real time on the Plano ISD home page as well as campus websites.
• The Plano ISD Mobile App: Download the mobile app and log in to receive specific messages related to your school. However, weather closures will be sent to all app users, even if you are not logged in to the system.
• SchoolMessenger (e-mail, telephone messages and text messages): The district will provide updates as needed to all parent/guardian telephone numbers and email addresses in the system.
  Note: You may opt in to receive text messages if you haven’t done so already.
• Social media – Facebook, Instagram and X (Twitter): Weather-related closures will be posted immediately to Plano ISD’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages. You do not have to sign up for Facebook or Twitter to view these pages; however, followers will receive instant updates in their newsfeeds.
• Local news media: Plano ISD will make information available to local television and radio stations and will enlist their assistance in communicating with our audiences.
