Plano ISD is no longer accepting observation requests for the Fall 2022 semester.
**Please Note: This page is for classroom observation requests only. If your program requires any kind of student interaction or instruction, please go to Student Teachers page for information on requesting a Student Teaching placement.**
Plano ISD welcomes classroom observers during the fall and spring semesters. Placement availability is limited, therefore, we ask that placement requests be made as early in the semester as possible. Requests are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis until the semester limit is reached. Due to the volume of requests, Plano ISD will not place student observers from Junior Colleges or online programs.
To request an observation placement, please follow the guidelines and steps listed below and have your university/program submit a request for placement:
1. Complete Application
Students must complete and submit the Plano ISD online Student Observer Application.
The Criminal History background check will be run upon completion of the application.
2. Submit Request
Student must also complete the Classroom Observation Request form with placement information.
3. Advisor Verification
Student must have their Advisor e-mail a verification for the request for observation hours to email@example.com.
All three steps must be completed before approval can be granted for classroom observations.
Any additional questions can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Plano ISD Identification Badge
Identification badges will be issued at the campus where you will be observing after placements have been confirmed. They must be worn at all times.
In order to obtain a badge using the Raptor System on the specified campus, you will need to provide proof of identification during each observation; you may present a current driver's license, state/government-issued ID card or military ID card.
