Ms. Stephanie Gonzalez

Hi! My name is Ms.Gonzalez! This will be my 4th year at Jasper. During my first two years, I had the pleasure of teaching honors and on-level Biology. Last year, I transferred into a new role as the iLEAP Learning Lab Facilitator. I am also the new Student Council advisor for the 22-23 cohort and General Council club sponsor.

About Me:

I was born and raised in North Texas, went through the LISD school system (Go Fighting Farmers!), and grew up with aspirations of a career in the science field. This led me to graduate with honors from the University of North Texas in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Certification in Secondary Education. I have held positions in the food and medical industry, and am also a Registered Dental Assistant in the state of Texas. My passions include: spending time with my family (my boyfriend and 3 wonderful fur babies), listening to science podcasts, drinking lots of coffee, volunteering at LLELA, and gardening.

Course Information:

So what exactly IS iLEAP? iLEAP stands for Individualized Learning Environment for Academic Progress. This program provides a campus-based opportunity for students to recover credits and/or accelerate their graduation plan. Students can benefit from the program while staying on campus and participating in their regularly scheduled courses. As the Learning Lab Facilitator, I will be working with your student to not only make sure they get back on track but also stay on track! I will be monitoring their progress on their credit recovery coursework, other classes and providing guidance to best support your student. We will also periodically be working on lessons aimed to help each student build his/her own efficacy for success. These lessons are designed to help the student engage in self-reflection as he/she systematically builds the skills necessary to be successful in school and in life.  In that process, the student will establish and take ownership of his/her own personal and academic goals.

Overall, I am very passionate about creating lifelong learners, and can't wait to share that love with this year's upcoming students!
