Hello there! My name is Mrs. Downs! This is my third year at Jasper and my sixth year teaching. I have the pleasure of teaching English II honors and Academic Literacy 1. I am also the assistant coach for the Plano West JV Cheer team.

A Little About Me:

I am from the tomato capitol of the world - Jacksonville, TX. I graduated from Southwestern University with a B.S. in Education in May of 2019.

From a young age, I’ve always known I wanted to help and teach others. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a sense of motivation and passion driving me forward. Whether it’s exploring unique opportunities, learning additional skills, or meeting new people; I gladly bring these values to every experience in my classroom.  ​

I have been happily married to my husband, Chris, since December of 2019. We enjoy spending all of our time with our seven-year-old fur baby Rayce. In my free time, I also enjoy reading, jamming to Taylor Swift, reading, being creative in the kitchen and napping. 

I hope that during our time together you'll be able to strengthen your love for reading and/or writing. I hope to also help you pursue your dreams. My door is always open. Never be afraid to come by and chat.
