Hello! Jambo (Swahili for hello)

I grew up abroad and graduated from Kenyatta University (KU) in Nairobi, Kenya with my Bachelors in Education. I moved to the United States and studied at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) and graduated with a Masters degree in British and American Literature.

I started teaching in 2013, after leaving the corporate world where I worked as a technical writer/editor for a healthcare company. I have worked in the Lewisville school district, the Richardson school district, and now the Plano school district. I will be an ESL teacher at Plano West Sr. High School.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching Marvel movies, traveling, reading, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.  In addition, I enjoy watching sports and am a huge soccer fan (Go Chelsea aka the Blues!). I also love football (Go Cowboys!).
