Degrees and Certifications:

BS in Biochemistry: Texas A&M University

Mrs. Nicole Lyssy

Although I was born in Missouri, I moved to Plano in 1980 and have been here most of my life. I attended Thomas Elementary, Hendrick MS, Clark HS, and graduated from PESH in 1995. I earned my bachelor of science in biochemistry from Texas A&M University in 1999. I also met my awesome spouse, Mike while I was there. We have two adult children who both attended Plano schools in the central cluster.

I began my teaching career at Bryan High School in 2000 and at Plano West in 2003. I appreciate the opportunity to learn about and grow with my students every day. They help me stay young, learn about different perspectives and cultures, and challenge me to become a better person. I regularly use my experiences as a parent to improve my teaching and I believe building a classroom community and rapport with my students are the most important parts of my job. Content learning only happens when the classroom is a safe place.

Outside of school, I enjoy going to the reading, yoga, baking, walking our dogs, and spending time with my family.
