Mr. Jerry Grizzle

I am an alternatively certified science teacher. I worked 3 years for the US Army as an operations engineer and HAZMAT/Confined Space team leader. I left my career at Fort Sill in 1996 and moved into teaching.

I have taught every subject in the science department and have also taught a couple of history classes. I taught for 2 years at Lawton Eisenhower (OK); 1 year at Allen High, Allen, TX; and I am one of the original staff members that opened Plano West in 1999.

I have served in the capacity of chemistry team leader leader for 3 years and physics team leader for 15 years. I have been an assistant men’s varsity basketball coach for 8 years at multiple schools including Plano West. Also at Plano West, I was the assistant Academic Decathlon coach for 2 years, the assistant robotics coach for 3 years, and the LASER Science Fair sponsor for 3 years.  I also served on the PISD Physics Curriculum Development Team for 15 years.

I currently teach AP Physics 1 in the fall and AP Physics 2 in the spring. I also teach one section of Honors Physics.

I am married to my college sweetheart. We have a son who graduated from Plano West and is currently studying mechanical engineering at Wichita State University (Go Shockers!).
