Douglas Darracott

Mr. Darracott is originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, but he has lived in the Dallas area since the early 1990s. Before teaching, he interned at the Dallas Museum of Art after receiving an MFA from the University of North Texas.. Since then, he has worked as an artist as well as an educator. Mr. Darracott's first teaching job was in Irving ISD where he taught art and English. In 1999, he joined the faculty of Plano Senior High before moving to Plano West in 2003. He has also worked with College Board as a consultant, leading Advanced Placement (AP) workshops for teachers at various locations around the United States. Mr. Darracott has also served on the AP Art History test development committee and contributed to numerous College Board resources. 

His favorite activities are painting, reading, traveling, and swimming. Mr. Darracott, above all, enjoys working with young people and continues to be inspired by their optimism and energy.
