Hello, 

My name is Colleen Smith, and I have been teaching since 2018, where I worked in Frisco. After one year, I moved to Plano ISD in 2019, and have never looked back. My journey in Plano began at Shepton High School, and after three years, I moved to Plano West Senior High. 

I went to Texas State University before starting my career in education. While there, I was part of the Honor Society, Sports Broadcasting team, the university newspaper, and Greek life. It was here I earned my degree in Mass Communication and Media, with a minor in business. I was fortunate enough to have been the first freshman female sports broadcaster at KTSW 89.9, the student-run radio station, at Texas State. It was because of this job offer right out of high school that I chose the home of the bobcats for my education. 

My job at the station allowed me to do exciting things like anchor Spurs games, interview famous people, and cover all major sports at the University. These experiences led me to become a passionate journalism and English teacher who loves teaching students about news and media..
