Katie Patel is going into her tenth year of teaching and fourth year as Head Choir Director at Jasper High School - a 9th and 10th grade only campus in Plano, TX. Choirs under Mrs. Patel have consistently received superior ratings at UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Contest, as well as, at various festivals and evaluations across DFW. Students of Mrs. Patel have participated in both All-Region and All-State choirs, as well as, state level recognition for UIL Solo & Ensemble Contests.

Mrs. Patel served as the Concert I Chorus Assistant Conductor for the Children's Chorus of Greater Dallas under Cynthia Nott for eight years. She also assisted Kimberley Ahrens, artistic director, of the newly developed Greater Dallas Choral Society for the Cantabile ensemble. Mrs. Patel has also served as the Texas Tech University All-State Choir Camp Alto Section Leader for the past nine years. She has also been honored to serve as the Lewisville ISD 5th Grade Honor Choir Conductor for three years. Additionally, Mrs. Patel received the Texas Choral Directors Association award for Young Director of Distinction in 2021.

In 2013, Ms. Patel graduated with a Bachelor’s in Music Education from Texas Tech University. She has recently received her Masters Degree from Texas Tech University for Music Education in 2021. She is a member of TMEA and TCDA and is the proud wife of Highland Park High School’s assistant choral director, Neal Patel. They have a beautiful 2 year old son, Dylan Patel.
