Mr. John Schmerker

I have been teaching at Plano West since 2011 and teaching overall since 1997.  I currently teach APStatistics and AB Calculus at Plano West.  I am also the Mathematics Department Chair here at Plano West.  In addition to teaching, I write curriculum and do consulting work for College Board, as well as participate in the AP reading for AP Statistics.  I am currently working on my National Board Certification.

I am originally from SugarLand, TX and went to The University of Texas at Austin where I studied education with a math minor.  I have taught at Wilson, Haggard, Jasper, Plano West and also in Cherry Creek and Douglas County Schools in suburban Denver.  

I enjoy playing and watching sports, Las Vegas, Swimming, spending time with family and friends,  and traveling.
