Hello! My name is Mrs. Starks and I am a member of the Social Studies Team at Plano Senior. I started my Education career as an AVID Tutor at Fossil Ridge High School in Keller ISD in 2008, founding their AVID program, and I have been a classroom teacher since 2018. I graduated from Texas Woman's University with a B.S. in History, and I have started my Masters program in US History and Political Science.

I have not always known I wanted to be a teacher. I started my college track in Anthropology and worked at Mayan archeology sites in Central America for 2 seasons. However, working in the AVID program in college made me realize my calling and I can't imagine doing anything else. I am a fourth generation teacher, so it is in my blood. My great-grandmother started teaching in 1918 in a one-room school house in Abeline, TX and I grew up watching my grandmother, an elementary school librarian, and my mother, a high school math teacher and math professor at TWU, practice their crafts. During my educational career, I have taught: World Geography, World History, US History, Photo Journalism, Yearbook, Government, APUSH and AP Government and Politics.

This will be my fourth year at Plano Senior High School, and I am so proud to be a Wildcat. I am also the Robotics Sponsor for our FRC robotics team, 6171 ChainReaction.
