Mrs. Forgey is thrilled to bring her passion for art to Plano ISD and Plano Senior High! She studied illustration and design at the Kansas City Art Institute and worked as an in-house illustrator for a publishing company in Austin, TX. Mrs. Forgey later pursued a degree in All-Level Art Education from Texas State University, graduating in 2001. She began her teaching career in 2002 at Byrd Middle School in Duncanville ISD.

In 2005, the Forgey family returned to Austin with their youngest daughter, who is now a sophomore at UNT studying music education. After nearly two decades, the Forgeys have relocated back to the DFW area, where Mrs. Forgey will be teaching Art 1 and AP Design at Plano Senior High starting in the 2024-2025 school year. Mr. Forgey will be teaching art at Otto Middle School.

Mrs. Forgey has a distinguished background in art education and leadership. She was honored as the 2023 Outstanding High School Art Educator by the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) and has been appointed as the Youth Art Month Vice President on the TAEA Executive Board for 2024-2027. She is also a former TAEA Leadership Scholar, Region 13 Representative, and co-chair of the TAEA annual conference held in Round Rock in 2022. Additionally, she served as the high school cohort leader for Summit 24 and 25 professional development for the Center for Educator Development in Fine Arts (CEDFA).

Outside of teaching, Mrs. Forgey enjoys giving private art lessons, spending time with her cat Alexander, and going on drawing dates with Mr. Forgey. She loves listening to her daughter sing and indulging in her passion for drawing and painting, especially while traveling abroad. Mrs. Forgey has a fondness for the mountains and bodies of water and can often be found daydreaming and organizing her creative ideas.
